The Blockchain Association of Africa (BAA) has been the voice of Blockchain technology in Africa since 2014, incorporated in 2018. We speak for an industry that aims to touch the daily lives of Every African in every corner of the continent — by providing solutions to everyday problems, providing much needed jobs, career opportunities in technology, and by investing in the communities we serve in accross Africa. Blockchain Association of Africa ("BAA") is a independent, self-regulatory organisation for the blockchain industry. The BAA enables international brands, companies, start-ups, investors, developers, service providers and regulators to connect and collaborate.

Our Offices are based in South Africa and satellite offices in Uganda and Nigeria , this is where we run our daily operations from, our members however come from South Africa , Nigeria , Lesotho,Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Ghana and Zambia to name a few
Chaired by Ms.Yaliwe Soko one of the leaders in Crypto and blockchain development in Africa as many have come to known her, with her leadership our CEO , Mr.Naveenraj Challa and Shireen Ramjoo as our CMO who have made impact in this sector along the past years, along with other board members in the Blockchain environment in Africa who represent country based blockchain associaions.
As the Blockchain Association of Africa we have signed MOU's with various companies and organizations to help develop Africa's Blockchain technology including Africa's own crypto currency , information on which will be made public in the 1st quater of 2019, these technologies will help unite Africa as a continent and allow the easy access to services needed by our citizens.
Blockchain Association of Africa is a not-for-profit, industry-funded association representing one of the fastest growing industries on the planet in Africa.
As the Association we saw the need to showcase the skills and blockchain products of companies in Africa, so came up with the idea to launch the Africa Blockchain Congress in 2019. The Africa Blockchain Congress will have the ability to raise the bar for technology and saas companies to provide their services to all sectors of business who see the importance of Blockchain in their ecosystem.
Presented in a series of top-level keynotes, interactive panel discussions and solution-based case studies with a focus on learning and building partnerships in the emerging African Blockchain space, Africa Blockchain Congress will explore the industries that are set to be disrupted the most by this new technology, including; legal sectors, financial services, healthcare, insurance, energy, music, government, real estate and more.
Africa Blockchain Congress will showcase the latest developments in the Blockchain arena, in both emerging and more established markets.
Africa Blockchain Congress will look at a variety of platforms and services from startups to cloud providers, including developer, networks, applications and APIs as well as the impact on legal, finance and government sectors with smart contracts.
Blockchain Technologies will focus on the evolution of blockchain and its applications. The Africa Blockchain Congress will explore the many launches and trials being conducted, the different uses of blockchain technology in these verticals, and the vast opportunities in these sectors.
Taking place in Capetown from the 07th-08th June 2019, Africa Blockchain Congress will host a range of industry verticals, from legal, financial and insurance to government and healthcare, alongside developers, startups, cloud providers, investors, venture capitalists, and many more.
The event is organised by Blockchain.org.za (a collaboration between Africa Trade Network and Blockchain Association of Africa) .
